The Flashpoint XPLOR 1200ws 8 foot extension head combines the power of two XPLOR600 series monolights and transforms the XPLOR – GN181, into a bi-tube boom friendly super 1200ws powerhouse – GN220, perfect for use in softboxes, with gridded reflectors or occasions when more strobe power is demanded. Connects simply to any XPLOR by unplugging the glass shielded flashtubes from the XPLOR monolight bodies, locking the pronged cable links in place on each monolight body and then inserting the new 1200ws flashtube on the head extension socket. The lightweight remote head is then acting as a bridge between the strobes and remote head. Now you have a 8 foot extension cord remote, with almost twice the effective punch of a single XPLOR600 with less than 2 second recycle at full power. You don’t give up the convenience of the umbrella holder or the free moving 180 degree tilt lock, and all popular Bowens style mount light modifiers that fit directly on the monolight extension heads. 1200ws in one head! What an advantage to the serious shooter.
While all the great features of XPLOR are now combined by this head, some are only operated through one of the joined units. The best syncing option is R2 radio remote to both simultaneously, but a sync cable can be used to trigger one and both will fire if the second unit has the Slave Mode turned on. The modeling lamp is controlled by the lead designated by a red band.
Included with this item is a zippered soft case and shoulder strap that provides secure housing for the monolight body specifically for extension head implementation. The case is great for hanging on a light stand or on the move with a lightman while offering protection from the elements. To make it even more practical, there is a window for constant monitoring of the XPLOR LCD display panel with access to the control buttons.
